You’ll explore a range of ideas within product design, architecture and interior design and you’ll learn through practical and critical activities in 2D and 3D workshops. You’ll also be using computers for some of the design activities. During the course you will be researching others’ art and design and developing your own ideas using sketchbooks and design sheets. You’ll learn to use the tools and machinery by first making small maquettes, leading to final design products. During the second year you’ll develop your portfolio for university interviews. This course is equivalent to 3 A Levels and is an excellent progression route to an art foundation course and higher education courses in architecture, interior architecture, interior design and spatial design. AS/A2 Art & Architecture | 3D Coursework/Exams (%): 75/25 This course will concentrate solely on resistant materials and ceramics. It will focus on 3D design and sculpture. You’ll enhance your skills in spatial awareness by making maquettes, models and developing ideas by drawing. You’ll study the work of artists, designers and craftspeople to develop your own work.
