Qualification Success 2009/10

• 83% of the BTEC National Certificate Art & Design students achieved a Merit or a Distinction
• More than 70% of our Architecture and Product Design students received a Distinction or Merit in 2010
• Every student who took the BTEC National Certificate in Graphic Design achieved either a Merit or Distinction
• A Level 3D achieved a pass rate of 100% this year
• 97% of A Level Media students passed their course
• 100% of A Level Photography students passed their course with 83% gaining A*-C grades
• All BTEC Performing Arts students achieve Distinction and Merit grades.

82 students progressed to university in 2010 to study arts and media based degrees. The most popular subject areas were: Architecture, Animation, Fashion, Film, Graphic Design and Photography. The most popular universities for creative arts programmes were University of the Arts London, University of Westminster and the University of Hertfordshire.

Aliyah Riyadh, a Harrow College Foundation studies student was shortlisted as a finalist in the top 100 of the Young Brits at Art 2009 competition. Some of our textiles students participated at the IDENT show held at Tate Britain last year. Colleges from across London took part to promote diversity and environment through fashion. Aspiring media producer, Elena Walton completed her work placement at the live set of the BBC’s Big Questions and now she is studying at Goldsmiths College, University of London. Stephen Roe achieved A* in A Level Music Technology in 2010 and is now going on to study Audio Engineering at SAE Institute, Oxford. ‘
